In order to implement the national fitness strategy, the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Planning Outline" is implemented to create Bay Area tennis brand events and promote the development of the sports industry in the Greater Bay Area. The 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area "Hong Kong Jockey Club Cup" Tennis Team Tournament and Guangdong Amateur Tennis Open will be held from January 10 to 12, 2020 at the Hengqin International Tennis Center in Zhuhai. At that time, there will be tennis teams from 9 cities and 2 districts in the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Greater Bay Area, Guangdong Province and surrounding five provinces and autonomous regions, and 48 teams composed of specially invited urban tennis organizations to compete for the second championship.
The first Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Tennis Tournament was held at the Guangdong Olympic Tennis Center in Guangzhou from January 4th to 6th, 2019. As soon as the first event was unveiled, it won the praise of the participants with professional team service, perfect visual presentation, and wonderful competition rhythm. The event is determined to be a sports business card for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and has been highly recognized by the industry.
The second event will be moved from Guangzhou to Zhuhai, a beautiful coastal city. Zhuhai is one of China's special economic zones, one of the central cities of the Pearl River Delta, an important node city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the end point of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. Hengqin New Area, where the event is held, is the third national new area in China after Tianjin Binhai New Area and Shanghai Pudong New Area. In April this year, the Development and Reform Commission of the State Council promulgated the Hengqin International Tourism Island Leisure Construction Plan. Cultural leisure and sports tourism were included in the overall development plan of Zhuhai as a priority, including the construction of sports and leisure tourism facilities and the creation of regional events to enhance the tourism experience and Urban residents leisure sports function. This tournament will be an exchange and learning platform for more than 500 tennis enthusiasts in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and provinces around Guangdong. It is believed that it will promote the linkage of the Greater Bay Area and surrounding provinces, promote the development of regional tennis, and enhance the development level of mass tennis.
It is understood that this game will not only be open to the public for free, but also focus on creating a tennis-themed carnival full of characteristics of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area culture, strengthen understanding and interaction between the cities in the Greater Bay Area, and provide an improvement for the majority of tennis lovers Friendship and opportunities to promote exchanges; on the basis of the national fitness activities, the tennis culture concept will be deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, allowing citizens to watch and entertain.
