The main stadium of the Beijing Olympic Games, the National Stadium "Bird's Nest"
The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games (the 29th Summer Olympic Games) was the first time that China hosted the world's top-level sports event. It was held in Beijing, the capital city, from August 8th, 2008 to August 24th, 2008. The host city was Beijing, while Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenyang, Qinhuangdao and Qingdao were co-hosting cities. Hong Kong hosted the equestrian events.
This Olympic Games saw a total of 204 participating countries and regions, with 11,438 athletes competing. There were 302 events (28 types) of sports, and more than 60,000 athletes, coaches and officials participated. The Beijing Olympic Games set 43 new world records and 132 new Olympic records. A total of 87 countries and regions won medals in the event, and China topped the medal table with 51 gold medals, becoming the first Asian country in Olympic history to claim the top spot in the gold medal tally.
As a national enterprise that has long been committed to research and development and innovation in sports venue facilities, Uphos (Upman-horse) was fortunate enough to participate in the venue construction of this national event. It was responsible for the construction of the wire mesh fence for the Olympic tennis courts, baseball fields, softball fields and hockey courts.
