Internal vs. External Wind Tennis Posts

Tennis posts come with two winding system options: external wind and internal wind.

With external wind posts, the cable and winding mechanism are located on the outside of the post. In contrast, internal wind posts route the net cable over the top and into a winding system hidden inside the post. Most users prefer the internal wind design because it offers a cleaner, more professional appearance. Both styles come with removable handles that can be taken off and stored as a security feature.

Round vs. Square Tennis Posts

UPHOS offers both square and round tennis post styles, giving you flexibility in appearance and strength. Post sizes range from 2-7/8” outer diameter, 8-gauge steel, to heavy-duty 3” round posts with extra-thick 3/16” steel walls. The best option depends on the court type—public or high-traffic courts benefit from stronger, heavy-wall steel posts for increased durability.

Color Options

UPHOS tennis posts are available in black, dark green, and tournament blue. All posts feature a durable, baked-on powder coat finish that offers a smooth surface and excellent resistance to rust and weathering.

Installation Methods

UPHOS provides several installation options to suit your facility's needs: traditional in-ground posts, surface-mounted posts, and full-size portable tennis systems.

·  In-ground posts are often installed permanently but are best set into ground sleeves. While sleeves add to the initial cost, they make future replacements easier and allow the court to be used for different purposes.

·  Surface mount posts don’t require ground sleeves and are ideal for converting or repurposing existing spaces.

·  Portable systems are excellent for multi-purpose indoor or outdoor venues where permanent posts aren’t practical.
